Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo (born 5 February 1985), is a professional footballer. At the moment he is playing in Real Madrid and he is captain of the Portugal national team. In 2008, at age 22, he won his first Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award. He won it again in 2013 and 2014. In these years (2013-2014) he won UEFA Best Player in Europe Award. Ronaldo is the first Portuguese footballer who won these awards and the second who won European Golden Shoe awards. He is one of the most successful footballers in the world. Last year, in January he scored his 400th goal, in senior career! In January, 2015, Cristiano was named as the best Portuguese footballer of all time!

Cristiano Ronaldo began his career as a player of Andorinha. He played only two years, and then he moved into C.D. National. His next football team was Sporting CP. Soon, Manchester United noticed young Ronaldo. In 2003 Ronaldo signed for this team for £12.2 million! Next year, in 2004, he won the FA cup, his first trophy. He is also the first player in England who won all PFA and FWA awards, in 2007. In 2008 he won 3 of 4 PFA and FWA trophies.
On 1 July 2009, Ronaldo started playing for Real Madrid, for £80 million! This means he is the most expensive footballer in history! From that year until now, he scored 206 goals! According to Forbes, he is the second highest paid athlete, with $80 million in one year! A few years ago, he had a yearly income of $73 million.
