Mohamed "Mo" Farah: long and middle distance runner

Mohamed "Mo" Farah is a Middle-distance and long-distance runner. He was born 23 March 1983. Currently, he is a World, Olympic and European champion in 10.000 and 5.000 meters. In general, Farah competes in 10.000 and 5.000 meter races. However, sometimes he runs 1.500 meters and 3.000 meters. His debut was in London in 2014, when he won the 8th place in the marathon. He also set the new English record. He ran the marathon in 2 hours, 8 minutes and 21 seconds.

Farah is the holder of: the British indoor record (3.000 meters), the British 5.000 meter holder, two miles, half marathon, the European indoor holder (10.000 and 1.500 meters) and the worlds 2 miles holder. In 2010, he won the European Championships medal (gold) at 10.000 meters. This was the first ever men’s gold medal. In 2011, at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, he won silver medal in 10.000 meters and gold medal in 5.000 meters. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London (2012) he became the double champion. He won gold medal in 10.000 and 5.000 meters. In 2013, at the World Championships in Athletics, he repeated his accomplishment. He is the second men in history who was able to achieve this. 

Farah was a European champion in cross-country running. In 2011 and 2009, he took the gold medal in 3.000 meters at the European Athletics Indoor Championships. 
Farah trained at the St Mary's University College. He was running for Newham and Essex Beagles club. Since 2011, he has training sessions in the United States. Alberto Salazar is his coach. Farah’s running style has been described as bouncy. It is very effective because it can save energy in long distances.
