NASCAR’s most surprising driver - Dale Earnhardt Jr. tops list

This weekend at Pocono Raceway denotes the first commemoration of the Fanatics Trackside Superstore. It is an enhanced and reimagined at-track shopping experience. The Trackside Superstore gives fans a one-stop-shop each race weekend with the greatest choice of in-store NASCAR merchandise in the world.

To commemorate that, NASCAR disclosed a list of 20 best-selling drivers. Dale Earnhardt Jr. topped the list with the most merchandise sales. Dale is the No. 88 driver of Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He drives for Hendrick Motorsports.

In 2016, side-by-side racing and photo finishes determined interest in the broadcast and engagement, both socially and digitally, and also in sales of driver merchandise.

NASCAR fans pride themselves in flying the colors of their loved drivers, and the first half sales of merchandise results' tallying happens officially.  Coming as no surprise, the top three drivers are Dale Earnhardt Jr. standing at number one. Jimmie Johnson, the six-time Sprint Cup Series champion, and Kyle Busch, the defending champion, at second and third positions respectively.

Fanatics has profited from pivotal moments from Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Martin Truex Jr. They all have positive trade trends in 2016. Kyle Busch also experienced considerable gains of almost 80 percent in deals since his comeback the previous summer and the resulting championship run.

The most popular items accessible at the Trackside Superstore incorporate novelty items, clothing, and headwear. One of the biggest development patterns across all classes at the Trackside Superstore is the 1:64 Lionel’s scale die-casts which are up by 77 percent year-over-year.
