Anthony Bennett signs with the Raptors

Anthony Bennett has signed a deal with the Toronto Raptors and is coming home. Details on the time and salary have not yet being disclosed. This brings the Toronto-born player back to his hometown.

Bennett has some great numbers that back up his skill as a player and the owners of the Raptors have high expectations for him and the team for this season. The 6-foot, 245-pound player achieved an average of 5.2 points per game in 57 games with the Timberwolves. On 8 occasions, he scored in the double figures.

Bennett was picked in the first round of the first draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his season at UNLV, he was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the year. He made history by being named the first Canadian to be named the No.1 pick in the NBA draft. These last 2 seasons with the NBA have been a little rough for the now 22 year-old as he had to deal with injuries that prevented him from playing for several games. After his injury, he was able to play 57 minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The total of NBA games played by the former #1 pick is 109 games. Those games built up an average of 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Bennett has just started training with his new team this past Tuesday as he begins a new season playing as a Raptor in his hometown.
